A pretty Hyacinth that we bought as an impulse buy from the Powderham Garden Centre. Planted in a little pot on the Patio along with a little red primula.
A dainty white, fragrant daffodil which I have potted up temporarily on the patio. This daff is an old natural variety and is supposed to be very pretty with some good fragrance. I will hope to plant it up in the main bed once I have moved my plants around and got it ready. Looking […]
Large-cupped daffodil with solitary trumpet flower. Should be up to 40cm in height, which should be lovely for the spring. I bought these in a large net from Jack’s Patch in Bishopsteignton. A good garden centre which I’ll certainly return to. I’ve planted it in a long row along the edge of my main bed […]
I bought this on a whim at Withleigh Nurseries as I really liked the colour of the flowers and it will create a great contrast to my other Lobelia cardinalis ‘Queen Victoria’. It was in a hilariously tiny pot though, so struggling a wee bit. Not sure where to put it in the main bed […]

An interesting coloured Crocus which we bought as part of an offer on an impulse trip to Dobies off the M5. Planted up with Hyacinthus orientalis ‘Gipsy Queen’ in the white square pot on the Patio.
A pretty Hyacinth that we bought as an impulse buy from the Dobies just off on the M5. Planted in a square pot on the Patio along with some interesting Orange Crocuses.
I’ve wanted to get some more of these interesting little spring bulbs for a while now. Found these on a offer and the bulbs look good and strong. Hopefully will get them naturalised in the lower woodland bed over the next few years.
A dainty white, fragrant daffodil which I have put in a white pot on the patio. Hopefully the pot will survive the winter. Might have to bring it into the conservatory as I don’t think it is frost-free. This daff is an old variety and is supposed to be very pretty. Looking forward to seeing […]
I’ve never grown Camassia before and Monty on Gardeners world said these would be really good for a meadow type area to naturalise. I bought these in my September bulb purchase and I bought “one”. Got twenty! The bulbs seem really small for what may be a 70cm plant … I planted them in the […]
