I have been wanting to get a little tree in the space at the back of the top of my Main Bed all year, and decided on an Apple tree. I waited until the winter and was going to buy one online, but just couldn’t decide and then when I had decided they were out […]

Nymphoides peltata
This Yellow floating heart (or dwarf waterlily) is a native British pond plant which came with my pond starter collection from Wetland Plants. It is planted quite deep and in a decent sized pot so may get quite large, which would be nice. It doesn’t look like much at the moment!
This was inspired from Monty Don on Gardeners world. A small, heavy fruiting patio Raspberry. Perfect for our little garden. Found online at J Parkers and a good plant was delivered. Bought a new pot from the Powderham Garden Centre for it to live in.
Clematis ‘Helios’
My first go at growing clematis from seed. The seeds were bought from Thomson and Morgan and sown in the spring. They took ages to come up. So long in fact that we nearly gave up on them. Must have been a couple of months. Eventually they grew and I pricked them out and eventually […]
Crocus olivieri ‘Orange Monarch’
An interesting coloured Crocus which we bought as part of an offer on an impulse trip to Dobies off the M5. Planted up with Hyacinthus orientalis โGipsy Queenโ in the white square pot on the Patio.

I planted this new batch (on offer from RHS) […]

Clematis ‘Ernest Markham’
This was quick to establish and ran up the cane quickly. It got up into my tree quickly and put out some nice flowers. It really didn’t like the hot weather and will need better protection at the roots. I kept it well watered though and it survived. Should provide better root protection next year. […]
