I have been wanting to get a little tree in the space at the back of the top of my Main Bed all year, and decided on an Apple tree. I waited until the winter and was going to buy one online, but just couldn’t decide and then when I had decided they were out of stock.
This little tree ‘Exeter Cross’ was found in St Bridgets nurseries in Exeter and it was just a perfect shape, group and a lovely local tree. I bought it there and then. It sat in a pot for a couple of weeks and was finally planted on 20/12/2020.
August fruiting, pollination group 3, so should match the James Grieve next door. It is on an MM106 Rootstock, so should be easy to control. I don’t really want it to get too big. Just a nice sized standard.
