Garden Garden Diary

General Update – 11 October 2020

A lovely sunny autumn afternoon in the garden.

Mainly tidied but also spent a good while tagging my herbaceous plants ready for the winter. I want to be able to see what I’ve got when everything has died down so that I can plan and move things easily.

I bought some tags, electrical tape and a good pen and labelled everything circularly. Should do well.

I also planted the Iris foetidissima and the Fatsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’ in the woodland bed. Mowed the lawn which got an autumn treatment this week. It is looking great.

Squashes have split, which is annoying. We can still eat them though.

Tomatoes are done, veg is generally looking good and we should get some good winter salads this year.
